“When we’re bounded by social norms and stereotypes, we become attached to a social system where these stereotypes become more omnipresent and powerful, leaving us with no choice but to follow. The ‘Meant To Be’ music video highlights why we need to overcome these social barriers, accept others and learn to become the person we are meant to be.
This project carries a lot of meaning to me as a woman from the Middle East, growing up with social norms and boundaries that can be challenging to both women and men. ” – Nourey
